About Us
The Unveiling Africa Foundation is a non-profit organization established in January 2006 based in Edmonton and Nigeria. The foundation is geared towards promoting primary and secondary education on the African continent while empowering disenchanted Africans through several self help programs, micro-credit program, employment, etc. Here in Edmonton, it works collaboratively with community members, students and faculty groups at the University of Alberta to hold Symposiums and to co-produce events centred on Africa and global issues/awareness. In so doing, the foundation seeks to promote multiculturalism and intercultural education in Canada while fostering a sense of citizenship and nobility amongst individuals especially African youths.
Our Goals
- To improve access to education for under-privileged young African through scholarships programs, grants, campaigns etc
- To empower under-privileged young people, women and individuals by provision of employment, apprenticeship programs and micro-loan to start up business.
- To promote multiculturalism in our global world through intercultural learning, global campaigns, organizing cultural and educational events.
- To preserve, truly represent and share the African culture by organizing various cultural and educational programs
- To provide an avenue for Africans in Diaspora to make significant contribution to the continent through provision of required resources.
- To initiate and organize various innovative educational initiatives that help foster more positive and progressive ideologies in and beyond Africa.
